Limited Government
The framers of the Constitution wanted to make sure the power of the government would be limited. According to the 8th grade U.S. History Textbook, limited governments are, "...governments in which all leaders have to obey laws"(115). The makers of the Constitution believed that since the people are the source of government power, then the government should never have more power than the people want it to have. Many sections of the Constitution limit the authority of the government and list specific limitations to the government's power. The framers of the constitution did not want the government to be above the law in any way or be allowed to do unconstitutional actions.
